In the beginning of the Happy Hollister series, the Hollisters move to their new home in Shoreham. It is there that they come across their first mystery. Their moving van has dissapeared, and they must gather clues and try to find it. Fun, excitement and adventure are the order of the day. Mr. and Mrs. Hollister support the kids in their mystery solving adventures. The five children: Pete, Pam, Ricky, Holly and Sue have a grand time as they all help to solve each new mystery in the series of 33 books. They are often accompanied in their adventures by Zip as well as White Nose and her five kittens. And now it is time to meet them!

Mr. Hollister

John Hollister owns The Trading Post which is a combination hardware, sports and toy store. The Trading Post is a full of adventure and fun for the Hollister children. Mr. Hollister also has many interesting relatives, and is always ready to support his children in their mystery-solving. He travels extensively with his children and mystery seems to find the family no matter where they may go.

Mrs. Hollister

Elaine Hollister is the mother of the Hollister children, and is always present to soothe a bruised knee. She allows the children freedom to experience new adventures, play with friends and of course, to solve mysteries. Her children are well-behaved, but often get into scrapes with the neighborhood bullies. She never admonishes, but seems to have the ability to keep her children on the right track no matter how scary or dangerous the situation becomes.

Pete Hollister

Pete is the oldest of the Hollister children at twelve. He has sparkling blue eyes and a blond crew cut. He is ready for any adventure and is always willing to help those that may need it. He is dependable as well as resourceful, and usually comes out of any situation without harm...even when his path crosses with that of Joey Brill and Will Wilson, the neighborhood bullies. Pete is a sturdy lad who is ready to face any mystery head on.

Pam Hollister

Pam is ten years old and has brown eyes and fluffy golden hair. She is a kind person who will stop to help anyone, and loves animals. Not only is she kind, but she is also intelligent. She knows who to contact if a mystery occurs, and often researches clues diligently. Her intelligence coupled with her kindness, make her an extraordinary detective and a great help when mysteries come to the Hollister household. She doesn't like meanness, but cannot be mean to those that are mean to her or her family.

Ricky Hollister

Ricky is seven and has red hair and a nose splattered with freckles. He is a bundle of energy and is always on the go. Ricky loves adventure and has a lot of fun. He's always willing to get involved in a mystery, and loves anything exciting. As a matter of fact, he is willing to get involved in just about anything as long as it seems like fun. Ricky brings a lot of energy, and scraped knees to the mysteries that the Hollister children solve.

Holly Hollister

Six year old Holly has brown hair which is always worn in pigtails, and dancing brown eyes. She is the tomboy of the family, and you can just imagine the mischevious and fun-loving spirit that Holly has. She gets into nearly as many scrapes as Ricky does. She also has a charm that makes you want to share in any adventure with her.

Sue Hollister

Little Sue is only four years old and is the baby of the Hollister family. Her dark hair is cut into a bob that frames her cute face. She is adorable and the type of kid you just want to hug. Her favorite activities are playing and romping with the Hollister animals. Her world is filled with wonder and delight, and even though she's often considered "too little" to help the older kids solve mysteries...it is she who often sees things in a different manner and helps to solve the case.

Zip

Though Zip is Pam's dog, it is rarely apparent. Zip has enough energy to keep up with the whole family. A collie dog who is always ready to play and very faithful to the Hollister family, Zip often catches a criminal that is too fast for the Hollister children to catch up to. Though a kind dog, Zip is fiercly loyal to the Hollister family and will defend them without hesitation.

White Nose

White Nose was named because she was entirely black except for her nose of white. She originally belonged to Joey Brill. For obvious reasons, she did not like it there and ran away after putting up with his abuse. She hid in an empty house, which happened to be the one the Hollisters were moving into. They found her and her five kittens, and gave her the love and compassion that she deserved.

The Kittens

Our other animals are; Oberon and Hudson dogs - May Phoebe Cat rest in peace.

When White Nose was found hiding in the new house, it was discovered that she had five fluffy and adorable kittens in tow. Ricky named the black kitten Midnight. Pam named the white kitten Snowball. Pete called the little one with all mixed colors Tutti-Frutti. Smoky was the name that Holly gave to the gray kitten, and Sue named the one who snuggled it's mother, Cuddly.

Now that we have met the Happy Hollisters, it is time to share in their adventures with them!
